How long does the implant last?

I got an arm implant in October 2016. When am I due to switch it out?

The birth control implant (AKA Nexplanon) is a tiny, thin rod about the size of a matchstick that releases hormones into your body to prevent you from getting pregnant. One of the benefits of receiving the implant is that it lasts for up to 5 years, but it’s not permanent. If you decide you want to get pregnant or you just don’t want to have your implant anymore, your doctor or nurse can take it out at any time.
