Is it a good idea to take the pill while also using an IUD?

Can I use pills even if I have IUD? Does it give more guarantee not to become pregnant? Thanks a lot for answering!

There is no need to use both an IUD (“intrauterine device”) and the pill to prevent pregnancy. Used correctly, the IUD is more than 99 percent effective against pregnancy — and so is the pill.

However, it’s very important to remember that the IUD and the pill do not protect against sexually transmitted infections. Use a latex or internal condom along with the pill or IUD to reduce the risk of infection.
