if the vagina isnt lubricated enough will it bleed when having sex

Yes, sometimes if the walls of the vagina aren’t lubricated enough during sex, the skin will break or tear a little bit and start bleeding. Sometimes vaginal bleeding can mean you have vaginitis or an STD, so if you’re having this problem a lot, it’s a good idea to visit a health care provider.

If it’s not caused by an infection, the best way to keep that kind of tearing and bleeding from happening is to use water- or silicone-based lubricant (lube) during sex. Lube is safe, cheap, and easy to get at the drugstore or online. All kinds of people use lube during sex — straight, gay, young and old.

In addition to making sex more comfortable, lube also makes condoms safer and more effective by making them less likely to break. Apply some lube with your fingers to the inside of your vagina and around the opening, as well as on the penis before slipping the condom over it, or on any sex toys you may use. Many condoms come already lubricated, but putting more on the outside of the condom never hurts.
