Post-Appointment Information

We'll follow up with you, if you’d like, within 1 weeks to make sure your abortion is complete and that you are well. In the unlikely event that you are still pregnant, you may need another dose of medicine or to have an in-clinic abortion to end the pregnancy.

We’ll also give you after-care instructions and a phone number you can call with any questions or concerns.

MICHIGAN LAW REQUIRES THAT YOU SIGN A CONSENT FORM AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO RECEIVING AN ABORTION.

Before your abortion, our expert and caring staff will discuss all of your pregnancy options with you to help you make sure abortion is the best decision for you. We’ll also talk with you about your health history to make sure we’re providing the best care for you.

Planned Parenthood of Michigan has a team of abortion navigators who can help you plan for your visit, access financial assistance, and coordinate travel to obtain safe and legal abortion care. They can also provide guidance around Michigan’s 24-hour consent law, parental consent for minors, or judicial bypass.
