If you don't have insurance, you may qualify for a state-funded program or a lower fee scale. If you’re worried about cost, ask us about how you can get health care that fits your budget.

Services Coverage

Most health insurance plans now cover prescription birth control, annual wellness exams, and STI/HIV screenings with no copay, and many other services with some copay required. Contact your health insurance company directly to make sure that the services you need are covered and what, if any, out of pocket costs you might have.

Payment is expected at time of service unless other arrangements have been made.

There may be additional charges for lab and blood work.

  • Medicaid is accepted for most family planning services. We are contracted with many health insurance plans. You should contact your health insurance company directly to confirm that the services you are interested in are covered, and what, if any, out-of-pocket costs you are required to pay. When you make your appointment be sure to give your insurance information. Also be sure to bring your insurance card and picture ID to every appointment.

By Metro 
Red Line: Take the Red Line to the Noma-Gallaudet U Metro station. Walk approximately three blocks up Florida Avenue. Turn right on 4th street. 1225 4th Street is located on the left.

By Bus:

Parking: 
Free rooftop parking is available on a first come basis. There is also paid parking in the NoMa neighborhood, including Colonial Parking a 6 minute walk from the health center.

Getting a physical for school or employment? Please bring all of the required forms with you.

Childcare Policies

We’re unable to provide childcare at our health center. For safety reasons children need to be accompanied by an adult when they’re in the waiting room. Only infants can accompany you to the exam room. Please bring a friend or family member to be with your children if you don’t have childcare at home.

Accessibility Options

We offer services to meet the unique communication needs of patients who may be deaf or hard of hearing. If you or your family member needs these services, let our staff know as soon as you book an appointment. We’re here to help you communicate your health care needs.

Services Offered

You can fill your birth control prescriptions at our health center instead of the pharmacy. Birth control refill pick-ups are available during business hours with a current prescription on file.

You can come to us for services that don’t require a medical exam. For example, birth control education and supplies; emergency contraception (AKA the morning after pill); pregnancy testing and counseling; STD testing, and testing and treatments for urinary tract infections.

Walk-in Information

If you need emergency contraception (AKA the morning after pill), you can walk in anytime we’re open.

You are welcome to walk in any time the Health Center is open to make an appointment or see if there is a same day appointment available. If you have the time to wait, we will make every effort to fit you in the same day. If we can’t see you, we will give you the first priority appointment available.

Walk-ins accepted based on availability.
