If you don't have insurance, you may qualify for a state-funded program or a lower fee scale. If you’re worried about cost, ask us about how you can get health care that fits your budget.

We’ll never turn you away from the care you need because of your inability to pay.

Services Coverage

Most health insurance plans now cover prescription birth control, annual wellness exams, and STI/HIV screenings with no copay, and many other services with some copay required. Contact your health insurance company directly to make sure that the services you need are covered and what, if any, out of pocket costs you might have.

Checks are accepted ONLY for gynecological services, and may not be used to pay for abortion services.

Appointment Policies and Information

From the West:

Take 1-84 East to I-384. Take 384 to the end. The highway will fork. Stay right following Route 6 towards Willimantic. Follow Route 6 to the intersection of Route 6 and Route 66. This will be a long stretch of road! Just before the 6/66 intersection, look for Columbia Ford and Motta's Bakery on your right. At the light turn left onto Rte. 6 East. Route 6 becomes a divided highway. Take the first Exit, (Willimantic/Route 32) and at the end turn right onto West Main Street. Go approximately ½ mile through 3 traffic lights. The health center is on the right. It is a long building with an orange roof. It is across from the DMV and Papa's Roast Beef. Turn into the driveway and drive around the back of the building.

From the South:

Take I-95 N to I-395 N and get off at Exit 81 West (Hartford/Route 2/Route 32). This will put you on Route 2 for a very short time. Take Exit 25 (Route 32 North/Willimantic). At the end of the Exit, take a right . Follow Route 32 approximately 12 miles to Willimantic. Once in Willimantic, go straight through stop light ("Frog Bridge" will be on your right) until you get to 4-way stop signs. Turn right at stop sign (still Route 32). Follow road to the right and over the railroad tracks. At next light, turn left onto Main Street. Follow Main Street less than 1 mile to a fork in the road (Stop and Shop will be on the right). Stay right. The health center is about ¼ mile on the left, just past Capitol Garage. The building has a long orange roof. It is across from DMV and Papa's Roast Beef. Turn into the driveway and drive around to the back.

Childcare Policies

We’re unable to provide childcare at our health center. For safety reasons children need to be accompanied by an adult when they’re in the waiting room. Only infants can accompany you to the exam room. Please bring a friend or family member to be with your children if you don’t have childcare at home.

Accessibility Options

We provide educational materials specifically for people with developmental disabilities.

Specially trained staff and medical equipment are available for people with physical disabilities.

Services Offered

You can fill your birth control prescriptions at our health center instead of the pharmacy. during business hours

You can come to us for services that don’t require a medical exam. For example, birth control education and supplies; emergency contraception (AKA the morning after pill); pregnancy testing and counseling; STD testing, and testing and treatments for urinary tract infections.

Specialty Services

You may be able to get your birth control pills mailed to you. Ask the health center staff for more information.

Pills by Mail is available at this health center — a service that delivers birth control pills to your home each month. Ask the health center staff for more information.

Walk-in Information

If you need emergency contraception (AKA the morning after pill), you can walk in anytime we’re open.

You are welcome to walk in any time the Health Center is open to make an appointment or see if there is a same day appointment available. If you have the time to wait, we will make every effort to fit you in the same day. If we can’t see you, we will give you the first priority appointment available.

We ask that patients seeking other walk-in services arrive at least one hour before closing.
 
Due to high demand, we cannot guarantee service to walk-in customers although we will do all we can to accommodate you. If dealing with an immediate need or traveling from a substantial distance, it is advisable to call the health center in advance of your walk-in visit to assess our capacity to serve you without an appointment.
