Planned Parenthood Thousand Oaks is proud to provide quality, compassionate care to transgender, intersex, non-binary, and gender non-confirming patients. We are committed to improving the way transgender people receive health care in our community, including eliminating barriers to that care.

We offer hormone therapy for patients 18 years and older. Patients do not need to participate in therapy or provide information from a mental health provider to receive care at one of our locations. You may schedule an appointment online or by contacting our Call Center.

Here’s what you need to know about services for Gender-Affirming Care at this health center:

Your initial appointment will include:
·         A review of your complete medical history, including your sexual and surgical history and current health practices
·         A thorough review of your transition goals
·         Weight and blood pressure check
·         Blood work to monitor potential side effects of hormones
·         Routine screening and evaluation as determined by risk, sex assigned at birth, and anatomy
·         Explain how to take hormones and answer any questions you might have
 
You will receive a prescription that you can take to a pharmacy. Planned Parenthood welcomes patients of all genders and identities to access our wide range of health care services.

Insurance information

Some services may be covered by your insurance. If you want to use your insurance, please be sure to have your insurance information at the time of your visit.

If you are uninsured, you may be eligible to receive financial assistance for your procedure. You can confidentially find out if you qualify by calling us at (888) 898-3806.

If you are eligible for financial assistance you may be asked to bring documentation with you to the health center.

Walk-in Information

If you need emergency contraception (AKA the morning after pill), you can walk in anytime we’re open.

You are welcome to walk in any time the Health Center is open to make an appointment or see if there is a same day appointment available. If you have the time to wait, we will make every effort to fit you in the same day. If we can’t see you, we will give you the first priority appointment available.

Appointments

You can privately and easily book your appointment online for select services 24/7. For the full set of services, you can call 888-898-3806 to book your appointment. Health center staff can also answer any questions you may have.

We now offer mobile Check-In! We have partnered with Curago Health to help reduce your wait time in the health centers. All you need to do is click the link on your appointment confirmation text and/or email to complete your registration. Providing this essential information ahead of time will reduce the amount of time it takes to check-in once you arrive for the appointment.
