Can I take a pregnancy test while on my period?

Getting your period is a sign you’re not pregnant, so it’s safe to say you don’t need to take a pregnancy test if you’re on your period.

A lot of people have questions about the right time to take a pregnancy test. Pregnancy tests are most accurate after a missed period. If you have unprotected sex and then get your period, that’s a sign that you aren’t pregnant, so you don’t need to take a test.
