On January 23rd, 2019 the second anniversary of former President Trump’s executive order that not only brought back but greatly expanded the reach of the harmful policy known as the global gag rule, Planned Parenthood Global launched a report entitled “Assessing the Global Gag Rule: Harms to Health, Communities, and Advocacy.

The past five years changed history in Ecuador when the country held a political and public debate to decriminalize abortion in cases of rape and other grounds. On April 28, 2021, the Constitutional Court declared unconstitutional the article that criminalized abortion in cases of rape, except for women with mental disabilities, paving the way for all people who are survivors of sexual violence to freely access abortion.
