Monica Kerrigan is the incoming Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Global. Planned Parenthood Global is the international arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. It was founded nearly 50 years ago to advance the sexual and reproductive health and rights of young people, women, and families around the world.
Monica Kerrigan is a fierce leader in sexual and reproductive health and rights with decades of experience managing global organizations with extensive partnerships, programs, and staff. She is currently the Vice President for Innovations and Technical Leadership at Jhpiego, which is an international, non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University. She leads a multidisciplinary team to identify novel solutions and harness the power of innovations to address challenges in sexual and reproductive health including adolescent health, HIV/AIDs and maternal health.
Monica has worked in several countries across Africa and Asia as a seasoned veteran of the United Nations, the United States Agency for International Development, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and other leading development and global health organizations. She earned her Master of Public Health degree in maternal and child health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Monica began her lifelong career of service as a former Peace Corps Volunteer, where she served as a primary health care trainer in rural Mali.
