Melvin Galloway is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund. In this role, Mr. Galloway will oversee day-to-day operations and ensure that the national organization is set up to deliver on our important strategic goals over the short and long term.

Mr. Galloway brings tremendous experience from the philanthropic, nonprofit, and government sectors. Most recently, he served as the Chief Operations Officer for the New York State Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery, where he oversaw operations for a complex $4 billion federally funded HUD disaster recovery program for New York State.

Previously, he served as Chief of Staff in the Office of the President at the New York Public Library, where he established governance and management practices, created reporting tools for key business processes, redesigned the senior management structure, and served as a liaison to internal and external constituencies on behalf of the President.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Galloway held key roles managing operations at a number of organizations, including The Rockefeller Foundation and the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation. He has also done some pro bono consulting work for nonprofit organizations through the Taproot Foundation.

Mr. Galloway received his Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and International Studies from Miami University of Ohio and a Master’s in Public Administration and Finance from New York University. He is a former Fulbright Scholar, where he worked with a variety of civil society organizations in Venezuela.
