Kumiki Gibson is general counsel for PPFA and the PPAF. In this role, she leads the office of the general counsel and oversees all legal and compliance matters for these two organizations.
Kumiki has extensive legal experience, having worked in the public sector, the not-for-profit sector, and the private sector. Most recently, she served as counsel to the governor of the state of New York. Her prior public sector experience includes serving as counsel to Vice President Al Gore, the commissioner of the New York State Division of Human Rights, and a prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice in the civil rights division.
She has also served as the principal legal advisor for several prominent not-for-profit organizations including Johns Hopkins University and the Clinton Foundation. She was a partner at the Washington, D.C. law firm Williams and Connolly and an associate at Arnold and Porter.
