Jethro O. Miller is Chief Development Officer (CDO) for Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund. As CDO, Mr. Miller is responsible for overseeing PPFA’s philanthropic fundraising program, including gifts from individual donors, family and institutional foundations, and leads the Development Division of the national office.

 

Prior to joining PPFA in May 2014, Mr. Miller spent the last six years at the American Red Cross, most recently serving as vice president, principal and major gifts, and managing a large team of fundraisers in New York, Washington, DC, and Los Angeles. As one of the senior leaders at the Red Cross, Mr. Miller successfully built the principal and major gift programs while leveraging the engagement of the organization’s leadership, national Board of Governors and chapter boards.

Before joining the American Red Cross in 2008, Mr. Miller was director of development for Children's Rights, a national advocacy group working to reform America's child welfare systems on behalf of abused and neglected children, a cause that he continues to serve through his community volunteer activities in the New York City area.

Previously, Mr. Miller served as assistant vice president of Community Counseling Service (CCS). He brings significant campaign experience from his six years at CCS where he guided the planning and execution of capital campaigns for many of the country's leading nonprofit organizations, including the ACLU and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF.

Mr. Miller has been a presenter at numerous professional fundraising conferences. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton, and his master’s degree from The University of Chicago. Mr. Miller and his wife have two children.
