New Split Single: 7-inches for Planned Parenthood: Vol. 2 - Pt. 1 Out Today

New York, NY (December 14, 2018)  -- Last week, the collective behind 7-Inches For Planned Parenthood announced the kick off release for Volume 2 with a surprise live performance at LA’s The Wiltern of the new split single Vol 2- Pt. 1 A-Side “All I Want” by The National’s Matt Berninger and Stephan Altman featuring Julien Baker. The split single is available today and also features Hanif Abdurraqib performing his poem “Defiance, Ohio is the Name Of A Band” as the B-Side. The single’s artwork, titled “Crimson Sun, Blue Heart” is provided by Emma Kohlmann, and created in watercolor and sumi ink. “All I Want”, originally written for Jim Stern’s Sony Pictures Classics documentary “American Chaos,” was produced by Stephan Altman and Matt Berninger at Mophonics Studios in LA, with additional production by Casey Gibson, and mixed and mastered by Rich Costey.

The inaugural 7-inches for Planned Parenthood box set includes new or never released tracks from Foo Fighters, Sharon Van Etten and Sleater-Kinney, as well as exclusive performances from comedians Jenny Slate, Zach Galifianakis and Tig Notaro, spoken word by Dr. Willie Parker and Margaret Atwood, collaborations from St. Vincent and John Legend, and so much more.

On the next phase of the project, Matt Berninger said, “7-inches for Planned Parenthood is essentially an independently run record label devoted entirely to protecting sexual and reproductive rights. We're excited to continue our support of Planned Parenthood with this new release, and to kick off Volume 2 of our series.
