New York, NY — Planned Parenthood Federation of America is pleased to announce that PPFA Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley, has been named to the 2016 EBONY Power 100 list. Dr. McDonald-Mosley is being honored for her support of reproductive rights and her relentless drive to create health equity in the U.S.

The annual EBONY Power 100 list of inspiring African-Americans includes a diverse group of leaders and influencers who represent the best of their community, from the boardroom to the runway, Hollywood to the White House. Each year, the list brings together activists, artists, academics and other game changers who work daily to improve the lives of their community. Honorees this year included the Obamas, Beyonce, the Minnesota Lynx WNBA team, the Congressional Caucus on Women and Girls, John Legend, Jessica Williams, Issa Rae, Simone Biles, Colin Kaepernick, the Rev. William Barber, Charlene Carruthers, Roxane Gay, Ava Duvernay, and Melissa Harris-Perry.

“It’s an honor to be named among so many incredible leaders in the Black community,” said Dr. McDonald-Mosley. “At Planned Parenthood, our patients and staff come from all walks of life. One thing they share is the need for a safe space where they will be treated with dignity and care, no matter who they are. We work every day to provide that welcoming place for every single person, to get the high quality care and education they need to stay healthy and reach their life goals.”

The 2016 EBONY Power 100 honorees were recognized during an exciting and star-studded evening held on December 1 in Los Angeles, California.

“We are thrilled to see Dr. McDonald-Mosley honored by EBONY,” said Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. “She is an incredible physician, a fierce leader, and advocate for reproductive health and rights - and is deeply committed to improving health outcomes for all. I can’t think of a better person to represent the good work of Planned Parenthood in communities across the country.”
