Teen Councils

Already know you want to join? Click the Teen Council Link at the left side of this page!

Teen Councils throughout western Washington provide peer education to students in middle and high schools. Over 100 high school students are currently council members in this year-long program beginning with an intensive educational retreat and continuing with regular training meetings throughout the year to become knowledgeable about aspects of sexuality and effective teaching methods.

Research has shown that teens respond more enthusiastically to education provided by their peers. This has proven to be true at PPWW; over the ten years these programs have been offered students, parents, administrators and teachers have been extremely supportive of this program.

Teen Council applicants are recruited in March of each year. For more information about programs in your area, contact the Planned Parenthood of Western Washington Education Department by email or at (206) 328-7715.
