Planned Parenthood University

An educational venture presented by Planned Parenthood of Western Washington and endorsed by the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), establishing nationally recognized professional certification in reproductive health and sexuality education.

These two certificate programs serve community health educators and clinic-based patient educators. While the initial course in each program, Human Sexuality, provides the conceptual base necessary for anyone working in the field of sexuality and reproductive health, the focus of subsequent courses is on applications for these different professional tracks:

Sexuality Education Certificate: for educators, trainers and outreach staff of Planned Parenthood affiliates and related organizations, providing sexuality and reproductive health presentations to groups in their communities and in schools and other educational settings.

Patient Education Certificate: for patient education staff in Planned Parenthood affiliate clinics and other reproductive health care settings, providing patients with information and assistance in managing their reproductive health decisions.

Courses are designed for working professionals, providing online distance learning and concluding with a supervised practicum experience completed in their local community.

For information about these programs, academic schedules and registration, please call the Planned Parenthood of Western Washington Education Department at (206) 328-7715 or email us at education@ppww.org
