Planned Parenthood of Western PA is seeking a Medical Services Manager in its Pittsburgh office. 

The Medical Services Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of healthcare assistants, nurses and mid-level clinicians in conjunction with the PPWP Medical Director at both, the family planning and surgical health centers, as well as for providing direct nursing care, working within the context of PPWP medical protocols.

The Medical Services Manager is also responsible for assisting with the operations of health centers and ensuring that the services delivered are high quality, customer focused and that they comply with protocols and regulations and achieve agency goals for productivity and performance.

Detailed Medical Services Manager functions:

·         assist in monitoring health center compliance with federal and state laws, including licensing requirements, laboratory methods, clinical service exposure control, and medical assistance program regulations

·         coordinate clinical peer review program and facilitate clinician meetings

·         assist with budget preparation and ongoing monitoring of health center performance including establishing and ensuring compliance with service productivity standards.

·         oversee ordering of center supplies and inventory control.

·         help implement the strategic plan and annual work plan for the medical program. 

·         assist with implementation of the PPWP Risk and Quality Management program

·         participate in updates of medical protocols and other agency policies  

·         initiate or assist in the delivery of emergency care in accordance with established procedures.

·         be available, on an on-call basis by either telephone or pager, during scheduled hours and after hours on a rotating basis to make appropriate referrals for any urgent or emergent medical condition or situation

·         assist in the implementation of facility and technology upgrades for health centers and the organization

·         represent PPWP as requested at meetings and community events

 

Applicants Must:

 

ü  hold a current Pennsylvania RN license and CPR certification.

ü  have a minimum of one year previous supervisory or management experience, preferably in a health related setting.

ü  have excellent written and interpersonal skills

ü  have excellent leadership & supervisory skills.

ü  have a strong commitment to the mission of PPWP.

ü  have ability to travel independently throughout the western Pennsylvania service area

ü  have ability to use telecommunications and computers.

ü  be able to work Saturdays.
