PPWP hosts a number of Special Events throughout the year. Whether we are holding our quarterly Cocktails for a Cause, or gearing up for our annual Spring Gala, we welcome all supporters to attend our events and bring someone new to our organization! Our largest annual fundraiser will be held June 2 at the magnificent home of Carole Bailey and Andrew Stewart. This historic residence, formerly the home of Mrs. William Thaw, has a powerful connection to PPWP. Mrs. Thaw was a founder and president of the Birth Control League of Allegheny County, the first organization to provide on-site reproductive health care to women in our community. She hosted the first League board meeting in her home on May 30, 1930.The League assumed the name Planned Parenthood in 1949.
We invite you to celebrate 82 years of PPWP history in the house that was the birthplace of family planning services and education for Allegheny County.
