We are here to help you navigate the health care law, also known as Obamacare

Confused about Obamacare?  Not sure how it will affect you in particular?

We understand.

First, let's define it: Obamacare= Affordable Care Act (ACA)= health care law.  This law makes health insurance more affordable for millions of Americans.

Enrollment for 2014 is over

The Enrollment period for 2014 is now closed.  You will not be able to sign up for a health plan through the online Marketplace again until November 15 for 2015 coverage.  If you have health insurance now and something happens in your life that changes your coverage, such as changing jobs or having a baby, you may qualify for a special enrollment.

 Qualifying life events include:

  • Losing insurance coverage (unless this loss of coverage resulted from failure to pay premiums or was a voluntary cancellation);
  • Getting married or divorced;
  • Giving birth or adopting a child;
  • Becoming a lawfully present immigrant or citizen;
  • Having a change in income that affects eligibility for premium tax credits or cost-sharing reductions (if you are already enrolled in a Marketplace plan);
  • Permanently moving to a new state or area with different health coverage options; or
  • Discovering a problem with your enrollment or non-enrollment due to an error by the Marketplace.

The enrollment period for 2015 will run November 15, 2014 through February 15, 2015.

November 2014 will come sooner than you think!  If you didnít get enrolled this time around, and find out you are not eligible for Medicaid, you can enroll in coverage in just a few months and have coverage starting January 2015.  Take the time now to figure out whatís most important to you in a health insurance plan ó and what kind of financial help you may be eligible for.

As time draws closer to November, check back here for details on where you can go for help with the enrollment process.
