Grassroots Organizer - VLPP has an opening for a grassroots organizer to organize pro-choice activists to take action on issues related to reproductive rights in Virginia. This position is responsible for recruiting, training, and mobilizing volunteers for such activities as canvassing, rallies, petition drives, etc., for developing volunteer leadership to run events, for implementing a patient advocacy program in our health center and for participating in developing the statewide strategic plan. In addition, the position is the primary contact for media inquiries and frequently fields request for interviews both over the phone and on camera. To qualify, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree and 3 to 5 years experience in organizing or electoral work. Must be knowledgeable of reproductive rights issues and legislative and electoral processes in Virginia. Familiarity with Convio & VAN database management is desirable.
