Get Involved Locally
Your time and involvement allows Planned Parenthood to deliver our vital services and programs to the Central Virginia area. There are many ways that you can support the work of VLPP:
- Take Action: Join the Planned Parenthood Action Network to stay up-to-date on important legislative issues, opportunities to volunteer, and have your voice heard at the Virginia General Assembly and on Capital Hill!
- Contact your Legislators: The responsibility of your elected officials is to represent your interests-but they cannot do that unless they hear from you! Find out who your legislators are and contact them via phone, letter, or email.
- Write a letter to the editor: One of the most effecient and effective ways to advocate for reproductive health is through writing a letter to the editor. Such letters reflect the opinion of the community and are one of the most widely read sections of the paper. If you are interested in writing a letter, please contact Courtney Jones, Grassroots Organizer, for topics, talking points, letter-writing tips, and the help of a letter-writing coach!
- Get involved in our Community Outreach program: Being visible in the community is one of the most important things we can do. It puts a real face on our issues and allows us to continue to grow our list of supporters. Find out more about our community outreach campaign, REAL Sex Ed Saves Lives.
