Educators are available for community outreach, from health fair tabling and public speaking to private education sessions for any age group or specific needs.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
- sexual health
- HIV/AIDS education and prevention
- population growth
- body image and the media
- healthy relationships
- gender identity & sexual orientation
- faith and sexuality
Through community outreach and collaboration, Planned Parenthood Association of Utah staff and volunteers work to increase public awareness and support for family planning, comprehensive sexuality education, and reproductive health services. Volunteers play a key role with staff in outreach activities such as information booths at health fairs, school and community events such as: the Utah Education Association conference, the Susan J. Komen Race for the Cure, The Warped Tour, and the Summer Concert Series at the Gallivan Center.
Participation in partnerships with a diverse group of community agencies helps PPAU to better meet the needs of underserved populations. PPAU works with: Women with HIV/AIDS Task Force, Utahn's Concerned with Adolescent Pregnancy and Parenting, YWCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, Job Corp., both public and private schools, Allies for Youth, Women's Detention Center, Youth Detention Services, Centro de Familia, State Universities and Colleges, Indian Walk-In Center, and many more.
PPAU also supports and promotes annual events that bring people together around reproductive health issues including: National HIV Testing Day, National Prevention of Teen Pregnancy Month, National Family Sex Education Month, World AIDS Day, Gay Men's Health Summit, and the AIDS Walk.
