New York State law must provide legal protection for women against discrimination and violence. Join this historic event and bring your friends and colleagues—register today.
Today, there are too many barriers holding New York women back. Women are discriminated against in the workplace, in wages and benefits, in housing, credit and lending and in health care. Inequality only increases throughout a woman's life, meaning women are twice as likely to live out old age in poverty than men. Women also continue to be the primary victims of domestic violence, sexual harassment and human trafficking. That is not what women deserve--and not what our mothers, sisters or daughters deserve.
The Women's Equality Agenda was introduced by Governor Cuomo at his State of the State address in January. As the father of twin daughters, the Governor has made passing this legislation a priority for his administration.
Since the campaign's introduction, over 800 organizations have signed up in support of this campaign, including labor groups, businesses, religious groups and women's organizations. Register today to join us in Albany on June 4.
