Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood (UHPP) focused its "Condom Week" outreach efforts by planning four "pub crawl" style events on Valentine's Day weekend. Four groups of volunteers distributed 2,000 condoms in Albany, Hudson and Troy. They gave out safer sex kits, Mardi Gras condom beads and temporary tattoos in 20 bars and clubs. Volunteers invited patrons to play a trivia game about issues of sexuality and sexual health and test patrons' skills for the right way to put on a condom.
Condom week events were promoted on the local radio station JAMZ 96.3 FM, through a series of Facebook ads and on the UHPP website and through social media channels.
"Our volunteers worked hard to engage and educate the community during this fun outreach event" said Katherine S. Bruno, Director of Marketing and Social Media.
