  • December 1: World AIDS Day, events TBA. Every year UHPP educators take part in marking this occasion and raising awareness around HIV/AIDS. Click here to read about our teen peer educators in the Seriously Talking About Responsible Sex (S.T.A.R.S.) program participating in last year's activities, and check back soon for details on this year's events.

  • December 2: Join us for a National Lobby Day in Washington. The House of Representatives has just passed a health care reform bill containing dangerous and far-reaching restrictions on access to abortion. Under the Stupak Amendment, even women and families that pay for insurance with their own dollars will not be able to buy affordable coverage that covers the full range of reproductive health care. Click here to download the Q&A on the amendment, and contact Blue at 434-5678 x 133 or blue@uhpp.org to join us in D.C. and tell our legislators this isn't right!

  • December 2 and 3: National Campus Days of Action. Help us locally as we work on college campuses to inform and mobilize students. Contact Blue at 434-5678 x 133 or blue@uhpp.org.

  • December 8 and 10: Participate in phone banking targeting key legislators on National Health Care Reform. Contact Blue at 434-5678 x 133 or blue@uhpp.org to get involved.

  • January 11, 2010: Statewide Day of Advocacy: Join hundreds of reproductive rights and family planning advocates as we meet with state Senators and Assembly members to outline our legislative priorities for 2010. Preserving funding for family planning services, expansion of comprehensive sex education and protection of abortion access will be high on the list. Click here to download the save-the-date flyer. For more information, send an email to blue@uhpp.org

  • January 21, 2010: UHPP Annual Roe Anniversary Reception, at Ft. Orange Club, Albany. The UHPP 2009 Advocate for Choice Award will be presented to Denise O’Donnell, Commissioner, NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services. For information, call 434-5678 x 141 or summer@uhpp.org.
