Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood is organizing its fifth annual Pledge-a-Picket Drive, in which our friends and donors can "pledge" a dollar amount for each picketer that protests at our sites. It sends a strong message of community support for Planned Parenthood to the organizers of these disruptive protests, and it's a great way for our clinics to gain something positive from these unfortunate events.
On June 7, 2008, anti-choice picketers will have a new message for our patients and staff: that the birth control pill kills. This special "The Pill Kills" protest marks the anniversary of Griswold vs. Connecticut, the landmark case that brought the birth control pill to American women. Anti-choice groups nationwide are using what should be a day to celebrate women's access to safe, responsible family planning to spread misinformation to our patients and harass our staff members. Let's join together to turn this extreme, outrageous behavior into a show of support for the Planned Parenthood community.
