Anyone can “opt-in” or respond to mobile community messages with feedback or donations. UHPP will continue to promote the mobile community through this website, Facebook, CHOICE Remarks, advertisements and marketing materials.
“Texting is extremely popular and convenient,” says Laura Alpert, Vice President for Development. “Nearly 100% of text messages are opened, so we know we’re making the connection.”
Since 2010 hundreds of patients have texted to receive basic information, including UHPP health center locations, hours of operation, and a link to www.uhpp.org.
During weekly teen clinics in Albany and Hudson, 66 teens utilized iPads in 2011 to participate in various youth-related sexual health education activities, including PPFA’s “Should I Get Tested” (for STIs/HIV) and “What Method Is Right For Me” (about birth control options).
On average, 3,333 people receive regular UHPP e-mail action alerts.
Nearly 32,000 unique visitors made more than 53,000 visits to UHPP's web site in 2011, and the UHPPANY Facebook page has more than 550 likes.
