UHPP Honors NYCLU Reproductive Rights Project at 2012 Roe v. Wade Celebration

At our annual Roe v. Wade Celebration, Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood presents the Advocate for Choice award to individuals and organizations that have demonstrated extraordinary work in the area of reproductive freedom and choice.

On Thursday, January 19, UHPP supporters congratulated Donna Lieberman, Executive Director for the New York Civil Liberties Union, who accepted the Advocate for Choice award on behalf of NYCLU’s Reproductive Rights Project.

The NYCLU is one of the state’s leading voices for freedom, justice and equality. The Reproductive Rights Project demonstrates the NYCLU’s commitment to preserving and expanding the reproductive rights of all New Yorkers, especially the most vulnerable.

NYCLU’s 2012 Reproductive Rights and Health Legislative Agenda includes passage of the Reproductive Health Act, adoption of universal Comprehensive Sex Education standards for New York public schools, establishment of a Health Benefit Exchange, and adoption of a comprehensive Family Leave Policy. As reproductive rights come under increasing attack, Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood applauds this program’s accomplishments.
