Kids today face many challenges. Among them is the ability to understand the risks and responsibilities associated with sexual involvement.
Planned Parenthood provides age-appropriate programs that help youth avoid HIV infection, reduce sexual risk-taking behavior and promote responsible sexual behavior, including abstinence.
The HIV Community Education Project gives young people the tools they need to understand and avoid HIV infection.
Participants learn:
- Abstinence (not having sex) is the best way to avoid HIV
- Basic facts about HIV
- How to talk with a boyfriend or girlfriend about abstinence and safer sex
- How to act responsibly if and when they become sexually active
This ten-session HIV prevention program is provided free of charge in partnership with organizations who serve youth.
