What does Vox stand for?
Vox: Voices for Planned Parenthood is a student organization with chapters on campuses nationwide. “Vox” is the Latin word for “voice,” and Vox groups are the voices for choice and sexual health on their campuses.
Our Mission:
Vox: Voices For Planned Parenthood at Missouri State University exists to educate the Missouri State University community about reproductive health and rights; to translate increased awareness into pro-choice activism on campus; and to serve as a coalition partner to state, local, national, and international reproductive rights efforts.
Vox: Voices For Planned Parenthood at Missouri State University believes in the fundamental right of every individual to manage his or her own fertility. Vox supports full access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings that preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of each individual; advocates public policies that guarantee these rights and ensure access to such service; and supports access to medically accurate educational programs that enhance understanding of human sexuality.
As a member...
We're looking for college students who care about sexual health and reproductive rights (don't worry, you don't have to be an expert on the issues to join). Vox members organize events to educate and mobilize the student body on issues affecting sexual health and reproductive rights, connect students to local Planned Parenthood health centers, and serve as a pro-choice presence on campuses.
