Republicans for Choice

Historically, Republicans have supported keeping government out of our most personal decisions.  And no decisions are more personal than when or whether to have children.

Today, however, the Republican Party nationally and in Missouri has been hijacked by vocal and extreme anti-choice, anti-family planning religious hardliners.

Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region’s Republicans for Choice Committee is part of a national Planned Parenthood initiative involving Republican women and men who believe that our nation and our party are best served by policies that promote prevention of unintended pregnancy, access to family planning services, and comprehensive sex education – policies proven to reduce the need for abortion.

Help us get the Republican party and our legislators back on the common sense prevention track.  Receive more information by joining the Planned Parenthood Action Network and marking the ‘Republicans for Choice’ box.  For more information or to join the St. Louis chapter, please call (314) 531-7526 ext. 333 or e-mail republicansforchoice@ppslr.org.

Our Mission

To raise awareness and show support for family planning, women’s reproductive rights, and responsible sex education. To increase pro-choice visibility within the Republican party and to leverage our individual and collective influence, locally and nationally, to shape public opinion and public policy.

Our Platform

  • To support funding for state, national and international family planning programs, including the restoration of funding for the United Nations Population Fund.
  • To support state and federal policies and programs that promote comprehensive, age appropriate and responsible sex education.
  • To support Roe v. Wade and oppose state and federal legislation seeking to eliminate reproductive rights.
  • To support the passage of Republican Platforms, at state and national levels, that respect the diversity of personal beliefs regarding reproductive rights and abortion.
