Nancy’s Fund was established in 1992 in honor of a life-long champion of reproductive freedom who served as a volunteer for many years at Reproductive Health Services.
Reproductive Health Services is a separately incorporated, nonprofit organization which provides pregnancy testing, options counseling, emergency contraception, and abortion care services. In 2010–2011, RHS provided counseling and medical services for more than 6,000 patients. All services are funded through patient fees and private support, no federal or state funding is available to support RHS services.
Nancy’s Fund enables women to make their own choice about a crisis pregnancy, and ensures that no woman is forced to continue an unintended pregnancy because she can’t afford abortion care services.

Nancy volunteered thousands of hours as an Options Counselor at Reproductive Health Services, and was known for her warmth, sensitivity and compassion. She was especially concerned for women who could not afford to pay for their services. She was a generous contributor to a fund to help these women. When she passed away, the fund was renamed in Nancy’s honor.
Today, Nancy’s Fund continues to help women in need, making freedom of choice a reality for low-income women through direct grants to women with extremely limited resources. The Fund has helped immigrants, unemployed women, mothers, women who are ill, young women and women in abusive relationships access abortion care. Last year, more than 1,000 patients received some type of financial assistance from RHS.
This fund honors Nancy’s vision and compassion, and that of the many other volunteers and donors who have made freedom of choice a reality for so many women.
