Abortion Services

Abortion services at Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region are provided by our affiliate Reproductive Health Services (RHS). 

RHS of PPSLR provides the following:

Medication abortion (also known as the abortion pill or RU-486) is available up to 56 days (8 weeks) from an individual's last menstrual period.  It is a very early abortion and safe option for women. 

Surgical abortion is available up to 22 weeks from an individual's last menstrual period. Surgical abortions are performed with gentle suction of a syringe (manual vacuum aspiration or MVA), suction curettage or with dilation and evacuation, depending on the length of the pregnancy.

Therapeutic abortion and counseling and education services are also available.
