More than 1,000 people, including San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, attended Planned Parenthood’s Annual Luncheon which featured former Presidential Advisor, best-selling author, and CNN analyst David Gergen. The Luncheon raises funds to provide affordable, preventive family planning and essential health care to women, men and teens in South Texas. This year’s Luncheon was especially significant given Planned Parenthood’s recent battles to protect women’s health. “Today’s Luncheon helped Planned Parenthood raise much-needed funds to provide women with preventive health services that including lifesaving cancer screenings, birth control, and screenings for hypertension, diabetes and STDs,” said Jeffrey’s Hons, President & CEO, Planned Parenthood Trust of South Texas.
