Friends of Planned Parenthood

The purpose of the Friends of Planned Parenthood of San Diego & Riverside Counties is to increase awareness of Planned Parenthood's mission and programs. We do this by encouraging our members to participate in fundraising efforts and/or becoming volunteers for PPSDRC.

The Friends is governed by an executive board chosen by members at large. The president of the Friends also sits on the PPSDRC board of directors.

Friend-raising has since expanded to include fundraising with a variety of popular annual events. Proceeds from these fundraising events go directly to programs and services at Planned Parenthood.

"Every Child a Wanted Child"
Planned Parenthood has provided quality reproductive healthcare for over 40 years in San Diego and Riverside Counties. There are currently 17 clinic locations serving over 180,000 patients each year. In addition to medical services, Planned Parenthood provides a variety of educational programs for individuals, families, teachers and other professionals. The agency also works with community leaders and elected officials, building a grassroots program to protect access.

In addition to 17 clinic locations, Planned Parenthood also offers reproductive healthcare services at the Women's Detention Facility at Las Colinas and the migrant worker camps in Riverside County.

The Friends members have donated over $165,000 to various programs at Planned Parenthood since 1978.
