January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

We encourage all women to take steps to ensure the health of their whole body, including their cervix! This includes:

  • Staying up-to-date on regular check-ups, including well-woman exams and STD testing;
  • For those ages 9-26 receiving all three courses of the HPV vaccine;
  • Avoiding risky behaviors, which includes practicing safe sex;
  • Taking care of your mental health.

Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains provides life-saving cancer screenings, family planning, emergency contraception, breast health services, STD testing and treatment, as well as sexual health education.

Each of our health centers has access to grants that my help cover the cost of breast and cervical cancer screenings. Additionally, all health centers can administer the HPV vaccine to both girls and boys between the ages of 9-26.
