Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Programs

Colorado – Women’s Wellness Connection

The Women’s Wellness Connection (WWC) provides free breast and cervical cancer screening to low income, uninsured and underserved women across Colorado.

The screening includes clinical breast exams, pelvic exams, Pap tests and for women 50 and older a screening mammogram.  For women 40 to 49 mammograms are provided if there is a direct family history (mother or sister) of breast cancer or a problem is found during the clinical breast exam.  Some diagnostic services such as colposcopies are also paid for by the program.

You may qualify for WWC if all of this is true for you:

* You are 40-64 years old
* You live in Colorado and have a Colorado driver's license or identification card
* Your income is in a certain range
* You don't have health insurance that covers these services, or you do have health insurance but you can't afford to pay the deductible
* You have not had a normal Pap test or mammogram in the past 12 months

Nevada – Women’s Health Connection

Nevada has a similar program known as Women’s Health Connection (WHC).  To qualify for a free breast exam, Pap test and pelvic exam, women must be at least 40 years old, live in Nevada, not have insurance and have an income within a certain range.  Women who are 50 to 64 years old and meet these requirements may also receive a free mammogram.

We encourage women to use these programs!

Contact the Planned Parenthood health center nearest you.  Ask the staff about the program in your area and they will check to see if you qualify.  Make an appointment for an annual exam or breast check and come to your appointment early in order to fill out forms.  Our staff will answer your questions and make sure you get the care that you need.
