About V-Day
The V-Day Campaign is a catalyst for mobilizing women and men to heighten awareness about violence against women and girls. By creating this global community, V-Day strives to empower women to find their collective voices and demand an end to the violence that affects one in three women in the U.S and around the world. Now in its 12th year, the V-Day movement has raised over $70 million internationally and educated millions about the issue of violence against women and the efforts to end it.
90% of all profits from V-Day Rochester 2010 will benefit Rape Crisis Service (RCS), giving more victims of sexual assaut access to fee counseling, advocacy and other services. 10% of V-Day Rochester 200 proceeds will benefit the V-Day Spotlight campaign -- women of the Democatic Republic of Congo (DRC). Since 1996, violnce against women and girls in the Eastern part of the DRC has been used as a weapon of war to torture, humiliate, and destroy not only women and girls, but also entire families and whole communities. Please help us end the violence -- not only in our community, but throughout the world.
