Building Coalitions Reflecting Our Community

Planned Parenthood of Western New York prides itself in its strong values which include collaboration and diversity.   The coalitions in which we participate and help to build represent a membership of community agencies, schools, individuals and groups working towards preventing teen pregnancy, STDs and helping our Western New York youth stay healthy.

In the Greater Buffalo Area, Planned Parenthood of Western New York is a partner member of the Buffalo CAPP Community Council.  CAPP stands for Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention.  This council is committed to providing youth with evidence-based comprehensive sex education, improving youth access to reproductive healthcare services, vocational, educational, and recreational activities for youth, and establishing community-wide responses to teen pregnancy and STDs.  This Council services the Greater Buffalo area and surrounding cities and towns.  The services offered through this program are grant funded and are offered at no cost to schools, community centers, and other youth serving organizations.

In Niagara County, Planned Parenthood of Western New York participates in the Prevention Connection, or Niagara CAPP Community Council, which implements the same programming as the Buffalo CAPP program in the Niagara County cities of Niagara Falls, Lockport, and North Tonawanda.
