In-clinic abortion is performed using gentle suction and medical instruments to remove the pregnancy from the uterus. In-clinic abortions are performed up to 15 weeks 6 days of pregnancy.
The abortion pill is a combination of two medications used to abort an early pregnancy (fewer than 9 weeks by ultrasound). The woman takes one pill in the heath center and the other at home. The abortion, similar to a heavy period, occurs in the privacy of the home. Women who are fewer than 9 weeks pregnant may choose the abortion pill or in-clinic abortion.
