A Community Resource for Comprehensive Sex Education
Planned Parenthood is a valuable and reliable community resource for education about sexuality and sexual health. We offer workshops for both parents and professionals, and also visit schools and other educational settings where we provide education to youth on sexual health issues.
Thanks to generous funding through private donations, foundation grants, and United Way we reach more than 25,000 individuals each year through these various programs.
In all of our work, our comprehensive approach to sexuality education is the foundation for our New 3Rs: Rights, Respect, Responsibility initiative, which seeks to provide youth with the tools and support they need to make informed, responsible decisions about sex. As the catalyst behind The New 3Rs in Oregon, PPSO is committed to broad-based community education that embodies the following values:
Rights
We believe young people have the right to accurate information and access to health services.
Respect
We respect young people as valued members of the community, with much to offer.
Responsibility
We trust young people to make responsible decisions when they are provided information, taught skills and given support to do so.
