Our Priorities

Our mission:

To ensure the right of all individuals to manage their sexual and reproductive health, by providing health services, education, and advocacy.

To Achieve Our Mission, PPSO is Committed To The Following Priorities:

  • Assuring broad public access to a full range of safe, effective, confidential, reproductive health care services.
  • Presenting community education programs that enhance understanding of the personal and societal implications of human sexuality.
  • Advocating for public policies that guarantee the right of every person to make informed, voluntary decisions about sexuality, reproduction and parenthood.

Each year approximately 30,000 women, men and teens visit PPSO’s health centers. Our clients are served by our expert team of caring healthcare professionals, which includes nurse practitioners, registered nurses and medical assistants.

We also reach more than 30,000 youth and adults each year through our education and training programs. As an integral part of PPSO’s New 3Rs: Rights, Respect Responsibility initiative, our comprehensive approach to sexuality education is promoting a climate in which youth have the tools and support they need to make informed, responsible decisions about sex.

Our public affairs efforts are supported by hundreds of activists, who are essential to our ongoing success at the state policy level. Thanks to the combined efforts of staff and volunteer activists, Oregon remains one of only six states that fully protects a woman’s right to choose.

All Planned Parenthood's services are confidential. Your decision to be abstinent or to be sexually active, and to use birth control and sexual protection, is personal and private.  We are committed to providing everyone  with quality services in a welcoming environment that is safe, inclusive, and respectful.
