WE'RE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A FEW NEW REVOLUTIONARIES
Each year, Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon recruits a team of enthusiastic, outspoken, and creative high school students for its youth action council — called REVolution (or REV, for short). REV includes students from several Eugene-area high schools, including Churchill, Sheldon, South Eugene, Springfield and Willamette.
REV stands for many aspects of the youth council's vision:
- Reach Every Viewpoint;
- Realize Every Vision; and
- Respect Every Voice.
REV sets its own agenda for the school year, with activities such as
- Creating connections with school-based health centers and work toward providing better resources and information to students about sexual health
- Conducting public awareness projects
- Participating in public affairs activities (letters to the editor, tabling, etc.),
- Organizing and judging a condom cover contest, and
- Organizing a Town Hall Forum, to give youth an opportunity to speak out to adults and voice their concerns about sex.
To learn more about Planned Parenthood's REVolution, send an email to revolution@pphsso.org, or download an application for REV if you live in the Eugene/Springfield area.
