Florida Abortion Access for Minors - Parental Notification Information 
If you are pregnant and age 17 and under, in order for you to have a legal abortion, Florida laws must be satisfied that one of your parents or legal guardian is notified that you are planning on having an abortion. Please call your local clinic so they can advise you on your next steps. The Parental Notice of Abortion Act, which became effective June 30, 2005 requires all minor females age 17 and under to undergo a process for securing a safe and legal abortion. Our affiliate holds special events throughout the year with engagements featuring keynote speakers such as Planned Parenthood Federation of America's President and CEO, Cecile Richards and award winning writer Anna Quindlen. Once a year we let our hair down with our Safe Sex events and dance the night away. Emergency Contraception, also known as Plan B or "the morning after pill," can prevent unintended pregnancy if taken within 5 days of unprotected sex. And the sooner you take it, the better.
