Letter From Our CEO

Dear Friends,
 
Planned Parenthood continues to address the growing needs of our client population while simultaneously conducting our Time to Build Capital Campaign, which is brining the possibility of enhanced resources for our communities closer to fruition.  Of particular note are the successful efforts being implemented in Manatee County, a long-standing goal of our organization.

We have celebrations large and small to report.  Our health centers have initiated new services, including Gardasil (HPV vaccine), Implanon (birth control implant) and Chantix (stop smoking medication).  The Education Department staff has been invited to more public school classrooms as parents and teachers begin to realize that in abstinence-only curriculum is not effective sex education.  Our advocacy efforts continue to recruit more support; topping off at almost 28,000, local pro-choice citizens who are willing to have their voices heard in the governmental offices a public venue.

The success of our low-cost medical and education services is only possible with the support of community members and a working partnership of the staff and Board of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida.
