Sexuality education is an opportunity to learn about our sexuality; how we feel about our sexuality; how we feel about ourselves as sexual beings and how we healthily integrate those feelings into a balanced, meaningful and purposeful way of living.  Sexuality encompasses a broad spectrum of feelings, attitudes, emotions and behaviors.  It involves sensuality and intimacy together with caring, sharing, loving, liking, risk-taking, vulnerability, fantasy and the need for touch.

Sexuality education helps us understand our attitudes and behaviors related to reproduction and health.  It fosters the acceptance of and comfort with our bodies.  We learn more about our sexual identity, our gender identity, our sexual orientation and our gender roles.  Through a better understanding of responsible sexual behavior, we develop the skills to explore gender bias and the role of sexualization in our culture in an effort to cultivate positive change for a better society.
