Overview
The Teen Time® Medical Services focuses on low-cost reproductive services and medically accurate sexuality education covering abstinence, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, and teen pregnancy for young people between 12 and 17. Services are offered in teen-friendly environments at locations throughout Indian River, Palm Beach, Martin, Miami-Dade and St. Lucie Counties.
Services Include
- Initial Visit/Annual Exam (for males and females!)
- Sexually Transmitted Infection testing for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and Syphilis
- Birth control (pills and Depo-Provera injections)
- Pregnancy Testing
- HIV testing
- Emergency Contraception
Educational Outreach
Teen Time® strives to provide the youth of our community with the necessary essential skills to make educated, conscious decisions regarding their health and wellbeing. Our unique program consists of two evidence-based curricula for middle and high school students which serve youth ages 12 through 17 years of age.
Our programs are delivered by trained Community Health Educators and the programs are available to any youth serving agencies and organization such as after-care programs, juvenile services and schools, with instruction in human development, relationships, personal and interpersonal skills, and sexual health, as outlined by the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS).
Teen Time® Reducing the Risk Program
- 10 sessions covering a variety of topics including: healthy relationships, maintaining sexual health, teen pregnancy prevention and values & decision making
- Sessions are scheduled to occur once a week or as often as your schedule will allow
- Hands-on, interactive presentations with a Community Health Educator
- Games and activities to assist the youth with learning each topic
- Ideal for after-school sites and other community based youth programs
32 Hour Training Program
- 4 consecutive full days (32hrs) of hands-on, interactive presentations provided by a variety of our Education Department staff who are fully trained Community Health Educators
- Topics presented are similar to those included in Teen Time Reducing the Risk program.
- additional topics can be added to address the specific needs of the group
- Stipends are provided to the youth who complete the full 32-hour training
- Limited to restricted service area and number of participants
One-time Presentations
- Your choice of topic from our Teen Time® Reducing the Risk program or other topic agreed upon
- Topics can be tailored to the needs of your group and remain age-appropriate
- Available to groups whose youth fall outside our targeted age-range
Parent Program: “Time for your Teen”
A program designed specifically for parents to learn effective tools for communicating their values to their teen. It also aims to help parents understand how to keep their teen safe and help them reduce risky behaviors. In addition, parents will gain knowledge about adolescent development, sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy prevention.
The parent education component will serve parents of teens that are concurrently participating in the 10-session Teen Time® module and will be conducted onsite at the community based organization or school hosting Teen Time.
