Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast is a private, nonprofit health care agency incorporated in 1971. Our affiliate was established in response to concerns about rising rates of teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Our goals were, and remain, to provide affordable, compassionate reproductive health care services and to educate the community in all areas of responsible human sexuality.
The mission of Planned Parenthood of South Florida and Treasure Coast, Inc. is to provide comprehensive sexual health care through the provision of clinical services, education and advocacy. We do so by understanding and responding to the needs of those seeking our services, and by protecting and respecting the essential privacy rights, dignity and culture of each individual.
Our skilled health care professionals are dedicated to offering women, men, and teens high-quality, affordable medical care. One in five American women has come to Planned Parenthood for health care at least once in her life. Our 10 health centers across South Florida provide a wide range of safe, reliable health care — and more than 90 percent is preventive, primary care. Planned Parenthood provides life-saving screenings for breast and cervical cancer, helps prevent unintended pregnancies through contraception, and reduces the spread of sexually transmitted infections through testing and treatment. Our medical staff treats all patients with respect and provides them with the confidential, non-judgmental care that they deserve.
Our Health Centers are located in Kendall, Miami, North Miami, Libert City, Pembroke Pines, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Wellington, and Stuart. Please visit the "health services" section of this site to find out more about the services available near you.
Planned Parenthood is a leading educator in the community on reproductive and sexual health topics. We deliver comprehensive and medically accurate information that empowers women, men, teens, and families to make informed decisions and lead healthy lives. Planned Parenthood is proud of its vital role in providing young people with honest sexuality and relationship information to help reduce alarmingly high rates of teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. To accomplish this, we use the most sophisticated instrument in medicine: accurate information. Our innovative health education and teen outreach programs teach young people how to make healthy decisions, and train teachers, parents, and caregivers how to have honest, open discussions with the young people in their lives.
From the State House to the White House, Planned Parenthood is a passionate and tireless advocate for women’s health and for policies that enable Floridians to access comprehensive reproductive and sexual health care, education, and information. Whether talking with members of the Florida Legislature, parents, or faith leaders, we educate our community about commonsense policies that promote women’s health, help individuals prevent unintended pregnancies through access to affordable contraception, and protect the health of young people by providing them with comprehensive sex education.
With more than 21,000 activists across eight counties, Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast helps our supporters stay updated on the issues and get involved with campaigns that advance and protect women’s health and rights.
