What should I do if I miss a pill?
If you miss 1 pill, take one the first day you remember and a second pill that night. No backup methods of birth control are necessary.
If you miss 2 pills, take two the first day you remember and take two the following day. You need to use a backup method of birth control for two weeks.
If you miss more than 2 pills, contact the clinic.
Who can come to Planned Parenthood?
Anyone can come to Planned Parenthood. It doesn't matter if you make no money or if you have a high income, you are assured quality and professional reproductive health care.
How much does it cost?
We have a sliding fee scale based on income. No one will be turned away because of an inability to pay. We also accept and bill most insurances, including Medicaid.
How do I get a pregnancy test?
We offer free pregnancy testing. Simply call the clinic to make an appointment.
Can I get tested for HIV at Planned Parenthood?
We offer confidential HIV testing. The test is administered by clinic staff.
Will my parents find out?
Planned Parenthood of Southeast Iowa will never disclose your personal, medical information unless you say it's ok. All of our services are completely confidential. However, we encourage all of our clients to discuss issues such as birth control, STD testing, and HIV with their partner(s) and parent(s) or guardian.
